Life I moved away from Wichita Falls the day after graduation to take a fulltime job in Oklahoma City, not knowing that I'd never go home. I lived there for twelve years. I met my husband on a blind date in 1981 and a year later was relocating to Knoxville, TN. With an M.A. in English, I am an Associate Professor at a community college where I coordinate the developmental writing program. I am co-author and the editor of a textbook which was adopted by another college in Tennessee last year. I took up the harp at the tender age of 50, and I now own a beautiful Celtic harp in cherry and maple. I play in a harp ensemble and really enjoy learning something new! I love to travel, but working for the state, I can't afford to do so very often. I've been to the Yucatan, the Carribean, the Keys, Quebec, Italy, and Ireland--where I learned to drive on the "wrong" side of the road. In 2006, I visited Athens, the islands, and Turkey--what an amazing trip! I also spent a few days in Maui and got to visit Pearl Harbor a couple of days after the ceremony. That was a very moving experience at a solemn, respectful memorial; it was an honor to meet some of the few remaining survivors. One of my hobbies is genealogy, and through it, I've reconnected with a long lost cousin in south Tx. We've made some very interesting discoveries.
